The ASPIRE Steering Committee was formed in December 2022; the role of the committee is to:

πŸ”΅ Ensure the registry is aligned with the organisational and national strategy.

πŸ”΅ Commitment to review and improve, as required clinically relevant datasets captured in the registry.

πŸ”΅ Assist with resolving registry strategic level issues and risks.

πŸ”΅ Assess registry progress and report on registry outcomes to relevant key stakeholders and management within the ABCPTR, TROG Cancer Research (TROG), Local Health Networks and Department of Health.

πŸ”΅ Review and approve requests for data (RFD) research projects submitted through ASPIRE and the TROG secondary dataΒ analysis pathway.

The ASPIRE Steering Committee has representatives from a wide range of disciplines and national jurisdictions, a consumer advocate representative, a member from the Hospital Research Foundation Group and a TROG Cancer Research nominee.

This approach ensures diversity within the committee from a range of different disciplines, organisations and representation from each site participating in registry.

Individual steering committee members have the following responsibilities:

πŸ”΅ Monitor the scientific progress of the registry including the data quality.

πŸ”΅ Understand the goals, objectives, and desired outcomes of the registry.

πŸ”΅ Understand and represent the interests of registry stakeholders.

πŸ”΅ Advise on the collection and interpretation of data.

πŸ”΅ Assess and advise regarding performance outliers.

πŸ”΅ Advise on scientific priorities to be addressed in data analysis and publication strategy.

πŸ”΅ Act on opportunities to communicate positively about the registry.

πŸ”΅ Actively participate in meetings through attendance, discussion, and review of minutes, papers and other Steering Committee documents.

πŸ”΅ Engage in collaboration with registry staff in providing intellectual input into analysis of data and development of registry publications where appropriate and advise on their scientific quality.

πŸ”΅ Support open discussion and debate and encourage fellow Steering Committee members to voice their insights.

We thank all of our ASPIRE committee members for their support, dedication and hard work!
